The Rochester Scorecard
For the 16 years I've lived in Rochester, I've heard two very different stories about our city. Some say Rochester is on the right track and making steady progress. Others say we are falling behind and going in the wrong direction.
Rather than relying on opinions, why not look at the data? How does Rochester compare to other cities of similar size? Where are we doing well? Where are we falling behind? And most importantly: what can we learn from cities with similar challenges?

City Selection Methodology
To compare Rochester against meaningful cities, I included every U.S. city that is the primary city of a metro area roughly half to double the size of Rochester, as well as roughly half to double the size of Rochester's metro in population. This produced a comparison set of 55 cities.
